LA-via-Cleveland multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ryan Sheridan’s project Gossip Culture came about with him obtaining dance related music gear and his strong admiration of the Motown Sound. He calls his music “downtown disco” and his movement toward the once reviled genre could not come at a better time with the resurgence that has occurred over the last couple of years that culminated with Daft Punk’s latest release.
Sheridan has a full-length in the works for next year, but in the meantime he will be releasing his Strictly Speaking EP next week. The latest single is the relaxingly cool “Deserts That Snow” featuring Topher Mohr, who assisted with production on the EP and has previously worked with the likes of Mayer Hawthorne. The saxophone takes the sexiness on a whole other level and the song perfectly takes sounds of old repackaging them with a modern finish.
- I also wouldn’t mind a Party Bot like this to just hang out with: https://t.co/wy1G3Weeak
- They made robots to replace manufacturing workers. How about one to help me move a Tascam 388?
